End of the year

Wednesday is the last day of school for this year.  The year has gone by so quickly!   I have truly enjoyed having each and every one of the children in class this year.  Check their backpacks.  I included a portfolio with some of the work they did this year that I thought defined who they were in kindergarten.  It also includes a few pictures.  I enjoyed reviewing the pictures and seeing how they have changed this year.

On Wednesday, we will come to school at the regular time.  We will play a game in the classroom for a while until it is time for the Museum Walk Through at 10:45.  Please join us for this.  The kids are proud of the work they did on the Expert Presentations and are eager to share it with everyone.
At 11:30ish, we will go outside for the all-school picnic.  Please have the kids bring a sack lunch.  The cafeteria will be closed so purchasing lunches will not be an option.  After eating lunch, summer vacation begins!

Parking will be an issue Wednesday.  The earlier you arrive at school, the more likely you will be to find a reasonably located parking place.

Today, 2 more Experts presented information to the class.

I. taught the class about Spider Girl.  She is amazing because she can spray spider webs from her hands!

B. taught the class about fire fighters.  Fire fighters are extremely important to our community!

Late Start Wednesday

Today was a very busy day in kindergarten!  Since it was a Late Start day, the first thing we did was go to lunch.  We went to the computer lab like we always do after lunch recess.  We were invited to go to the art room to finish a project that the kids will bring home on Friday.  Then we had two Expert Presentations.

Happy Friday

We had a great day in kindergarten.  We worked through centers, as always.  During this time, I pulled eggs from the incubator and put them in an ovascope or egg candler.  We were able to see the blood vessels in the egg as well as large black blobs.  We guessed that the large blobs were chicks! It was really exciting to see.  We have chicks in most of the eggs.  Now we wait and see how many hatch.  The baby chicks are "due" on Wendesday of this week.

Since it was a cold, rainy day, we stayed inside for recess.  The kids had a great time building and playing.  They were really proud of their work and wanted their pictures taken.  Here are a few of the pictures.
