Late Start

This Wednesday is a Làte Start day.  School will begin at 11:30.  We will dismiss at the usual time of 3:40.  The children will come in, we will take attendance, and go straight to lunch.  

Please remember to deposit money in your child's lunch account.  This can be done by either sending money to school with your child or by putting money in the account via credit card on Infinite Campus.  

We will not have school on Monday, September 7.  It is Labor Day.  We will be at school all day on Friday, September 11.

Our First Full Week

The kids had a wonderful week!  We started doing centers in the morning.  The kids are learning the transitions quickly.

Thank you to the parents that came to the parent orientation meetings.  It was nice to have a chance to meet with them and talk to them about how the classroom works.  They asked good questions and have a good understanding of the programs in our classroom.  For those that were not able to come, let me know if you are interested in the packets and I will send them home. 

Picture day is Friday, September 4.  An envelope for picture day was sent home today. 

Friday, September 11 is a FULL DAY to make up for the time we missed because of Labor Day.

What a wonderful day!

We enjoyed a wonderful first day of kindergarten!  After taking about a few classroom rules, we enjoyed free time, read The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn, and made puzzles with our handprints.  We also went outside and had a great time on the playground.  I sent the children home with their blue Legacy Folder.  This has the week's important papers in it.  This week it includes the Code of Conduct for our building.  After taking a minute to peruse it, please sign the back page and send the back page back to school.  Please return the empty folder back to school by next Friday so we can fill it again and send it home.

Welcome!

Welcome to Kindergarten!  I am so excited to have your children in my class.  We are going to have a wonderful year!

Let me tell you a little about myself.  I have been teaching for 16 years.  I have been teaching kindergarten for most of my career.  Kindergarten is my favorite!  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 boys (7 and 9 years old).  I also enjoy working with my family's horses.

 I will be holding 2 parent orientation meetings.  These meetings are important because I will provide important information about our classroom and the learning kids will be doing throughout the year. This is not the same information, you will receive while the children were being assessed before school started.  Please plan to attend one of the parent orientations.  Information at these orientations will be extremely helpful as the year progresses. Keep an eye out for an invitation to the orientation meetings.
