Applesauce

Today was a very exciting day!  We made applesauce.  Each child was able to use a safe, handy-dandy tool to peel and cut their own Apple.  We put all the apples in the crock pot with some brown sugar and spices, then let it cook all day.  At the end of the day, we enjoyed eating our culinary triumph!  Ok, it's more like baked apples than the applesauce you purchase at the store, but it is tasty and delicious!

Unfortunately, in the excitement of eating our applesauce, I forgot to hand out the kids' library books.  😕. My apologies.  I will make sure they bring them home on Friday.

In case you are interested in the applesauce recipe, here it is:
8 medium apples
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Combine all ingredients in the crock pot and cook on high for 4-5 hours.  Enjoy the tasty goodness!
